We offer a variety of demand-driven, practical courses designed to equip youth and adults with skills that create jobs, generate income, and build a better future.
The Carolyn Palmer Technical and Vocational Training Center offers comprehensive, skill-based programs designed to equip students with practical knowledge and real-world experience for employment and entrepreneurship.
Each course spans 6 to 12 months and carries an average of 60 credit hours, depending on the program. Our training covers a wide range of fields, including Culinary Arts, Tailoring and Fashion Design, Welding and Metal Fabrication, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, Carpentry and Woodworking, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Computer and Digital Skills.
Students engage in both theoretical and hands-on learning, with modules focusing on core competencies such as safety, technical operations, customer service, and entrepreneurship. Each program includes internship or field practice components to strengthen job readiness and community integration.
Graduates receive nationally recognized certificates upon successful completion of coursework, final projects, and professional practice hours,making them well-prepared to enter the workforce or launch their own businesses.

Individual Classes
The students have the flexibility to enroll in individual classes tailored to their interests, needs, or schedule. Whether you’re a beginner looking to explore a new skill or a professional seeking to upgrade your abilities, our short-term, credit-based individual classes allow you to learn specific modules without committing to the full program.
Pastry & Baking
The Pastry & Baking class is designed for beginners and aspiring bakers who want to gain practical skills in making delicious pastries, bread, cakes, and desserts.
Hair Braiding
This class equips learners with the skills to create a variety of braid styles including traditional, modern, and protective styles,suitable for both everyday wear and special occasions.
Computer Literacy
Participants will learn how to effectively use word processing, spreadsheets, email, and online tools, preparing them for office work, communication, and further digital learning.
Basic Welding Techniques
This hands-on course covers metal preparation, joining techniques, and basic repairs, equipping learners with the ability to work on small projects and understand workshop safety standards.

General Studies

Communications Skills
This course focus on developing students’ abilities in effective speaking, active listening, writing, and reading comprehension. This helps learners express ideas clearly, engage confidently in conversations, and understand others skills vital for both workplace success and everyday interactions.
Entrepreneurship
This course introduces students to the basics of starting and managing a business. It covers idea generation, business planning, financial literacy, marketing, and problem-solving skills, empowering students to become innovative, self-reliant, and ready to create economic opportunities for themselves and their communities.
Ethics
Ethics in our General Studies program teaches students about moral principles and values that guide right and wrong behavior. It encourages integrity, respect, responsibility, and fairness, helping learners develop strong character and make ethical decisions in their personal lives and future careers.
Critical Thinking
Critical Thinking in our General Studies program develops students’ ability to analyze information objectively, evaluate arguments, and solve problems effectively.
